6 months later.

I stoped posting on my blog because I was finally able to leave the house and walk around on my foot!
I also started working like crazy to make up for all the time I had off. Doubles.. triple shifs.. and a whack load of people visiting Whistler for the Olympics = no rest for this girl!

My foot is finally back to normal (well about 97%) Apparently its likely to stay like this forever. I've researched other people and their recovery etc. They say lisfrancs almost never heal 100%
Im not in PAIN... i just have a stiff foot every day when i wake up... It also gets very sore after I've been running around all day and sit down... stiff and sore.. Also wearing flip-flops or going bare foot is slightly uncomfortable... but not unbearable.
I can do everything i want.. Run, snowboard, dance :) It seemed like years ago that I broke it.. and now that its all better i Can't believe I even doubted I could recover! ( I guess with this kind of fracture.. its a different story for everyone.)

My first 3 time back on a snowboard were a bit painful.. Not so much the foot.. but the ache in my calf and achillies tendon since I handn't used either for about 4 months!!

I feel great.. I don't wish this fracture on anyone.. But at least if it does happen.. you know you can be fixed ;)

  1. Hi TwinkleToes

I see you haven't added anything to this blog recently - I hope this is because everything is ok with your lisfranc.

This blog is very encouraging - I managed a lisfranc fracture of my right foot on 21st March and have been in a non weight bearing cast up until 17th May. Like you I have also had a few Bambi moments and they left me pretty shaken.

I narrowly avoided needing surgery and am just starting to hobble around the house without my cast but I'm quite worried about the long term prognosis as there seems to be a lot of bad news regarding these fractures on the internet.

This blog is the 1st good news I've found - thanks for that

    Allan
